Why is Accreditation important for a nursing school?

Accreditation is designed to ensure that a school adheres to high education standards. This is particularly important when transferring credits or applying to graduate programs. It enhances your resume and helps when applying for jobs.

Associate degree nursing education provides the basic education necessary to become a registered nurse. Graduates are eligible to sit for NCLEX-RN licensing examination and, if licensed, may practice in structured care settings, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, clinics, and offices.

Associate degree nursing education incorporates nursing knowledge, knowledge of key biological and social sciences, and study of the humanities.

Career Opportunities:

Graduates of the Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program may pursue nursing positions such as:

  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Emergency Department RN (Emergency Department Registered Nurse)
  • Oncology RN (Oncology Registered Nurse)
  • Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)
  • Public Health Nurse (PHN)
  • School Nurse, Staff Nurse, or Staff RN (Staff Registered Nurse)

Students must have a Bachelor's degree or higher and a full acceptance score in at least one of the following: TEAS, HESI, ACT or SAT to be admitted into the program.
