Why the Nursing Informatics Track?

The American Nursing Association (ANA) defines nursing informatics as “the specialty that integrates nursing science with multiple information and analytical sciences to identify, define, manage, and communicate date, information, knowledge, and wisdom in nursing practice.”1 Nurses specializing in informatics help maintain and share data in order to improve patients’ quality of care. Students who have a passion for information technology and analytics may find this to be a fulfilling and rewarding path.

Our nursing informatics specialty will allow you to take courses in the implementation of healthcare systems, database design in healthcare informatics, and more to help prepare you for roles in nursing informatics.
